Hi! I have been a photographer for most of my life—just not a “professional photographer.” That doesn’t mean I didn’t do high quality photography. It just means I didn’t charge for it. Now that I am retired, I want to use my gift, and the things I have learned, to help you capture those special memories. So what is important to you and to me in a photography session—a shoot? I can’t answer that for you yet; so let me tell you what is important to me. I think a photo shoot should be fun—for everyone. I think a photo shoot should be relaxed and happy, not stiff. (We all look better relaxed.) I think the most important thing is that you get what you want out of the photo shoot. I think a photo shoot should be affordable. |
Wow, that is quite a list, isn’t it? And I can deliver for you. First, my studio is in my home. That is one way I can keep the cost lower for you. But nature in the Northwest is a tremendous gift. There is just so much beauty that it nearly begs us to be part of it. So I like to shoot outdoors because I don't have to rent large, expensive studio space. I will also shoot in your home, or other venue where you are comfortable and can be relaxed. I like to use your props, especially with children, rather than having a studio full of my props to use. Why? Your child will be more relaxed and comfortable with his/her own things. And you know what colors go with which outfit that you have so carefully chosen. And, again, it means I don’t have money invested in props so I don’t have to charge high prices. |
I will be asking you often if we are getting what you want—or if there is something else you want me to do for you. I’ll be suggesting what we do together, not ordering you around or demanding we do it a certain way because “it’s better this way.” You have ideas. You know what you want. My job is to help you get what you want, and to do it professionally so you are happy with the end result. Finally, I’m retired. That’s an odd thing to say since I’m asking you to let me be your photographer, isn’t it? But I mean I’m retired from my job. I don’t need to use photography to make a living. I don’t have to charge high prices. Take a look at my price page. I think you will be happily surprised how affordable good photography is. And is there something you want to know that I’ve left out? Just contact me. I’d love to talk with you about how we can work together to get those beautiful memories for and your family. |
"My grandson took these photographs with my camera under my direction. I think he did a pretty good job."
